In 2014, the Victorian Government announced that over the following 12 months the state-owned Rural Finance Corporation would be wound down and its assets, along with the Rural Finance brand, sold to the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.

Rural Finance’s chief executive officer at the time, Rob Goudswaard, believed it was very important to capture the organisation’s 70-year history, so he commissioned Ten Bag Press to produce a book that did just that.
