In the late 1950's and 1960's Kopuku was huge open cast coalmine operation in New Zealand. W. Stevenson & Sons were the contractors who removed the massive amount of overburden to reach the rich seems of coal. They used predominantly Caterpillar equipment supplied by Gough, Gough & Hamer Ltd
