(size - A4 reference book over 100 pages) and is an introduction to the history, technology and testing and use of solid and liquid fuelled lamps for lighting station platforms, buildings and yards of the Victorian Railways from 1856 to 1984. The book contains 218 pages of photographs, illustrations ( diagrams, drawings, maps and plans) and 12 tables of information. This book has taken thirty years to compile and is published by the Central Highlands Tourist Railway (with distribution assistance from PBPS Publications Committee).
