This is a detailed history of one of the most famous, important and prolific makes of farm tractors ever. Created by Henry Ford, the first Fordson was the Model T of tractors and accounted for 75% of all farm tractors in use around the world in the 1920's. The book covers all American and European models from 1917 on, including the related David Brown and Massey-Ferguson models; the U.S., Irish and U.K. Fordsons up to 1964; Ford-Ferguson N series; Ferguson tractors; U.S. and European Ford and New Holland tractors up to the present day merger with Fiat Agri; and conversion and after market versions from Funk, Trackson, Selene, Roadless and County.
Illustrations include black and white historical photographs from the U.S. and U.K. Ford archives, colourful period advertising artwork, and contemporary colour photographs of collectible tractors. The author is the world's leading Ford tractor historian, and uses a Ford-Ferguson 2N in his daily work producing maple syrup. Andrew Morland is probably the world's most prolific tractor photographer.
