This book covers the development of State electricity gerneration in Victoria.
It starts off with a brief over view of early electricity generation, leading to the governments decision to set up the SEC. The development of the Yallourn coal fields are covered with plenty of details and illustration of the mining.
The different steam generating plant used over the years is covered, along with the early reciprocating engines and the later turbines.
The text is written in an easy to read non technical style, there are also some tables of technical data for the more technical minded.
Over all it would be an excellent book for any body interested in earthmoving or steam power. hardcover.
