Bull Threshers & Bindlestiffs, Harvesting & Threshing on the North American Plains by Thomas D. Isern.
This is quite an interesting and comprehsive book that covers all the aspects of grain harvesting in the Great Plains area of Northern America. The books starts off with the early binders and less mechanised systems of harvesting going through to the threshing with traction engines, and finaly covering the early combine harvesters.
The book is well illustrated with many early photos of traction engines and portable steam engines along with the later tractors and combines. There is also a large amount of text giving an explanation of the development of grain harvesting techniques.
