Ford Model T Catalog of Accessories

No Longer Available

Guide to History, Ownership and Accessories of the Era by Gordon Schindler.

The Tin Lizzie, Flivver, Jitney - call the Model T what you will, but from 1908 to 1927, it was America's favourite car. As Ford stated, the Model T combined the web-footedness of the duck with the agility of the mountain goat. The cars were inexpensive to buy, and the engine could be rebuilt on the kitchen table.

In no time at all, a huge after market sprang up to supply luxury add-ons and mechanical wonders for your Model T. There were fast-buck artists, garage inventors, miracle-carburettors and the odd truly honest supplier with a worthwhile accessory.

This book chronicles them all, from anti-theft devices to do-it-yourself marvels. Here are more than 340 illustrations from ads and articles from the magazines of the era.

Model T operating and care instructions, as well as memories, from Les Henry, Victor Page and Floyd Clymer are also included.

The author has been fascinated with automobiles since he learned to drive at the age of 12 in a 1922 Overland touring model. He has compiled this catalogue from his vast collection of vintage science magazines.

This book presents a valuable historical guide to Model T accessories for restoration and identification.
